〜ことだし: "Seeing as how/since..."

Introduction

Welcome to yet another "reasoning" lesson. If you're tired of giving reasons, well, I'm tired of listening to them! Just kidding, your reasons for things are all very valid, but they could sometimes be expressed more objectively. So that's what we'll cover today!

～ことだし: Seeing as how (you're a beast at Japanese...)

  Example:
  → 昨日きのう食たべ過すぎたことだし、今日きょうはサラダだけにしよう。
  "Since we ate too much yesterday, let's just have salad today.”
