The adverb ～以上いじょうに (lit. "beyond; surpassing") attaches to a "base" or a "benchmark" and allows us to express that it gets surpassed in some way ("more (X) than...".

～以上いじょうに most commonly attaches to verbs and nouns, and occasionally い・な-adjectives.

E.g. きのこのホイル焼やきが、思おもっていた以上いじょうに美味おいしくて驚おどろきました。 "I was surprised because foil-baked mushrooms were tastier than I thought they would be."

E.g. 必要ひつよう以上いじょうに時間じかんをかけなくてもいいですよ。 "It's okay to take more time than necessary."

E.g. 影山かげやま以上いじょうの高校生こうこうせいセッターは、今いまの日本にほんにはいないだろう。　"There is no high school setter who is above Kageyama in Japan at this time."
